About Ellinger, Texas

Located in the eastern part of Fayette County on HWY 71 almost midway between Texas' largest city and its capitol is the friendly little town of Ellinger, population approx. 260, most whom are of Czech and German descent.

Ellingers rich history begins with an immigrant from Alsace, France who came to Texas in 1836. The story of Joseph Ehlinger and the events that lead to the present day development of our fine town are chronicled in a short booklet which can be viewed at the current City Hall building.

Ellingers most recent incorporation marks the beginning of a new chapter in its wonderful history.
